So I suppose I should take a moment to say what I am thankful for.
1. THE RED SOX ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????!!!!!
2. Mike Lowell is still in Boston, holding down 3rd base.
3. Curt will also be around for one more year.
4. Alice is NOT a member of the Red Sox
5. Any and all House/Wilson scenes
6. All of my real life and internet friends. You know who you are. :)
7. Law and Order CI and SVU marathon on tv right now
8. My cat, Rascal
Yeah, so there you go. I will NOT be at any stores at 4am tomorrow, but I do need to brave the crowds to pick up an ethernet cable at Target. Pray for me. LOL!

Magic number: 1
I'm sitting here and unsure what to say or how or what to feel. Nothing can ever match up what this felt like in 2004. Weeks of agonizing stress, 5 + hour long games, and more booze than I've ever drank in a lifetime, and then sweeping the Cardinals in what seemed like no time at all. This time, there was stress and anxiety, but it doesn't seem so hard. Maybe time has dulled my senses or I'm just getting too old for this. LOL! But tonight when Jon Lester takes the mound, I have this feeling we will be seeing something special. And I am sure, that RSN around the globe will all be thinking, what a difference a year makes.
Here's hoping to one more sleepless night!

Gehrig38 is my hero

He essentially made me into the "rabid psycho Sox fan" I am today.
And we may be at the end of an era. When he walked off the mound last night, and tipped his cap, I was not cheering, I was crying. And when I saw today's Herald headline on the T this morning I nearly lost it again. I should be happy, we are up 2-0! But today I'm feeling just a bit melancholy.
No matter where you end up Curt, you'll always be a hero to me.
